2024 DAM Elections

Voter Registration

In order to vote, members must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a current member of Dallas Anime Meetup on Discord
  • Live within the Dallas Fort-Worth Metroplex
  • Submit their voter registration form

Voter Registration will open on July 1st at 12:00 PM and close on July 14th at 11:45 PM. All voter information obtained through the voter registration form will only be used for the current election.

Candidate Registration

In order to run as a candidate, members must meet the following requirements:

  • Meet all the voter registration requirements.
  • Must be in good standing – cannot be temporarily banned from the Meetup or the Discord, or hold any restrictions.
  • If registering for a Steering Committee role – must have been a member of DAM for at least 6 months prior to the current election announcement date.
  • If registering for an Event Committee Director role – must have been a member of DAM for at least 3 months prior to the current election announcement date.

Tips for Candidates:

  • Respectfully establish your platform through discussion, suggestions, debates, etc. in the Discord via our DAM Election Event chats ( these will be posted shortly after the elections announcements)
  • It is strongly recommended that candidates are prepared to be active on our discord should they be elected. At a minimum, checking the DAM Discord on a weekly basis to coordinate with your fellow committee members.

Candidate Registration will open on July 1st at 12:00 PM and close on July 14th at 11:45PM. Members can only run for ONE position each election. All candidate information obtained through the Candidate Application form will only be used for the current election.

Voting Period

On July 15th at 12:00 PM the voting period will begin. Members that have registered to vote will receive a unique voting link from ElectionBuddy that will be sent to the email members used to register to vote. Members will have until the end of the week, July 21st at 11:45 PM to review and submit their ballots for the election.

The results of the election will be announced the next day, July 22nd at 12:00 PM.

Elections are held annually for all the positions of the Steering Committee and Event Committee Directors. The election process will take place over 5 weeks starting Sunday, June 11th. The timeline is as follows:

Vacancy After Election

Vacancy After Election

If there are any Steering Committee or Event Committee Director positions vacant after the election, the responsibilities of vacant positions will be spread out between the current Steering Committee members until the position is filled.

Vacant positions are always open for applications after the current election. The applications will be reviewed and voted on by the current members of the Steering Committee.

  • Must be in good standing – cannot be temporarily banned from the Meetup or the Discord, or hold any restrictions.
  • If applying for a Steering Committee role – must have been a member of DAM for at least 6 months prior to the application date.
  • If applying for an Event Committee Director role – must have been a member of DAM for at least 3 months prior to the application date.


If an applicant is rejected for the vacant position, they cannot apply again for that position until next election. However, they can still apply for vacant positions, using the DAM Vacant Position Application.
